Abstract. Radiochemical technologies for SNF reprocessing and RW management development faced new challenges for the equipment designers, also manipulator equipment and robotic systems. On the one hand, the equipment's operating conditions are getting hard due to nuclear fuel burnup, cooltime shortening, and minor actinides uses as part of nuclear fuel. On the other hand, the technologies themselves are becoming more complex, the requirements for product purity and loss reduction are increasing, which, combined with the desire to simplify the main process equipment, places excessive requirements on manipulator equipment and robotic complexes. As part of the development of the image, design documentation and equipment of the Polyfunctional Radiochemical Research Complex, a cycle of optimization works were carried out to remove redundant requirements and redistribute functions between service systems and equipment. The article gives examples of technical solutions adopted as a result of these works and discusses the advantages of the resulting technical systems.

Key words: remote maintenance, radiation-resistant manipulators, process automation, unified technological unit
