Abstract
Problems of development of walking robots, which possess the advantage of conventional transportation vehicles in passing of obstacles, but require more complex control systems, are considered. Legged robots’ application prospects are analysed. As an illustration, developmental prototype of autonomous walking adaptive robot for gas pipelines diagnostics and hydraulically-driven hexapedal robot with symmetrical architecture, which is able to move in any direction with no turn, as it’s important for passing of obstacles, are reviewed.
Key words
Walking machines, adaptive robots, sensor systems, passing of obstacles.
