Abstract. The article discusses the identification features of sunken radiation sources the methods used for their registration and the difficulties encountered. The capabilities of underwater technical means for searching for sunken radiation sources and the prospects for their use to create a combined technical search system based on an autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle with a software-analytical unit for recognizing near-bottom objects based on heterogeneous physical characteristics based on a fuzzy inference algorithm have been studied.

Key words: autonomous unmanned underwater vehicle, radiation sources, combined technical search system, automation, algorithm
