Abstract
Concept of management and procedure for the conduct of international robotics competitions RoboCup, aim of which is to evaluate research investigation results in the area of artificial intelligence, are described. Requirements applicable to participating teams are detailed written. Classification of robots by their types and by dimensions is
given. Current status assessement in Russian robotics relating to the class of robotic devices under review is made. Information on competitions held in 2006-2013 and also on expected events in current and next years is outlined.
